I’m an artivist- a multimedia environmental Latina artist in Texas- using the art platform for my overarching themes of connectivity to the planet and to each other. As an artist, I operate in a context, and my art is born out it. The time for Latinos in the USA to connect, be understood, and be seen is now, and I cofounded ALMAAHH- Advocates for a Latino Museum Complex in Houston, to represent authentically the diverse peoples that comprise USA Latinos. My Modular Woman concept of art- the counterpart to Modular Man introduced in 1949 by Le Corbusier for the world to understand and build the planet through the proportions of this utopia man- is a concept of female empowerment for preserving life on the planet. I’m the self proclaimed 50th generation of Maya Warrior Queens that my ancestors started in the 7th C in Central America.
